Payment Options

We acknowledge the challenges of both medical and mental healthcare costs, and the frustration and uncertainty when something as important as our health becomes unaffordable to maintain and/or improve.

Peace Of Mind CT currently offers seven payment options plus Our Love To People program to help you achieve and maintain your mental wellness. And we will keep looking for new ways to make our
mental health services affordable!!

By not accepting insurance plans, we aim to make your mental health care affordable by eliminating surprise bills for services not covered by your insurance or for the number of visits that exceed those covered by your insurance. It also allows us to set add-on services at rates lower than the industry standards. We want you to be in control of your mental health, the number of visits you need, and the treatment plan you deserve.

If our payment options page still leaves you with questions, please do not hesitate to contact us!

Subscription Plans

Subscription plans are an excellent and affordable way to create a budget for your mental health care! They cover several visits per year and allow any additional visits at a lower than the average rate, based on the length of your appointment. They are similar to paying your insurance premiums so that your visits are covered, minus the uncertainty of uncovered services and unexpected bills. Subscription plans also encourage adherence to receiving regular care as opposed to postponing your follow-up appointment because you have had unexpected expenses in a given month. To determine which subscription plan meets your health and financial needs, it is important that you carefully review and understand what is covered.

Love To People Program*
A total of 1.5 hours per business day starting at 4 pm and ending at 5.30 pm will be reserved for individuals who cannot afford the available payment options. It may potentially also be reserved for group sessions, if we can offer those as our practice grows.

Only virtual sessions are available for this program except for special circumstances.

These appointments cannot be self-scheduled, including the follow-up visits. If you have established care with our practice under this program and need a followup, you may schedule it at the end of your session with the assistance of your provider or by sending a request through your wellness portal.

A 4pm appointment has to be scheduled first. This means that if the whole 1-1/2 hour slot is open, your session has to start at 4pm. You would not be able to schedule between 4.15 pm-5.30 pm if 4 pm has not been booked. This is to allow time for as many individuals as possible who can benefit from this program.

One-hour and/or 45-minute sessions can be scheduled once every three months per established client. This is to allow appointment availability.

Proof of annual income will be requested. Qualifying income will be based on federal guidelines. Personal circumstances may also be considered to determine the cost of your visit.

There are no cancellation fees under this program. However, a minimum of 48-hour cancellation is required to allow other clients time to schedule an appointment.

We reserve the right to terminate services after one no-show or one cancellation with less than a 48-hour notice.
* This program is an attempt to help individuals with low income to gain access and take care of their mental health. It is the provider's own time and initiative. It is subjected to reduced days/times and/or termination if for any reason it becomes unsustainable for the practice, the provider's schedule, or if fraud and abuse of the program is suspected.

Other "Must Know" About Your Payment Options

Understanding our payment plan options before you schedule your initial visit with Peace Of Mind CT is very important when you are seeking long-term services. Continuity of care plays a crucial role in your emotional and mental well-being, and switching to a new provider after having established a therapeutic patient-provider relationship can be very disruptive. Therefore, we strongly encourage you to go over our subscription plans and all related policies to determine whether our payment options would meet your needs and budget for the long-term. If the information we offer on our website still leaves you with questions, please feel free to contact us. Details about our payment plans will also be outlined in the informed consent you will receive should you decide to utilize our services.
About Subscription Plans
If you subscribe to plans A-E and paying your first session in full is not an option initially, but becomes an option sooner than expected, you can change your appointment to an earlier available date and time.

Once you have had your initial evaluation under plans A-E, there will be no waiting period for scheduling follow-up sessions other than due to appointment availability.

Clients subscribed to a plan who need to wait for their first appointment can still schedule it as soon as they subscribe with a request through the mental wellness portal.

Under all subscription plans and if you pay per session, you need to have your initial evaluation before you schedule more office visits or psychotherapy sessions.

Subscription plan B is the only plan that does not cover any psychotherapy sessions.

A subscription plan is ongoing and does not require a renewal. A reminder will be sent towards the end of what would be your yearly anniversary with Peace Of Mind CT, in the event you would like to unsubscribe or switch to another payment plan.
About The Visits/Sessions
"Office" visits are scheduled for medication management. One-hour and 45-minute "office" visits allow adequate time for brief psychotherapy if needed. However, an "office" visit cannot be scheduled for psychotherapy alone.

During psychotherapy sessions, there will be no medication management. These sessions are a non-pharmacologic intervention. If you express a need to discuss or address your medications, you will be asked to schedule a separate appointment.

Add-on "office" visits and psychotherapy sessions are any appointments that are not included in your subscription plan but are offered at lower-than-average rates.

Add-on "office" visits and psychotherapy session rates are the same for all subscription plans except for plan B.

For all appointments, payment is submitted at the time you book your appointment. This includes the initial evaluation covered by your subscription plan if you can pay it immediately instead of waiting for your recurrent payments to accrue.

All "office" visits and/or psychotherapy sessions covered under your plan must be scheduled before scheduling any add-on "office" visits or psychotherapy. This is to ensure that our clients receive the services offered under their subscription plan.

After the first year, you may schedule a 60-minute office visit or break it down to either two 30-minute visits or one 45-minute and one 15-minute visit!
Under plans that include psychotherapy sessions (A, C, D and E), the sessions are noted to be monthly or biweekly. However, you can schedule them at the interval you need, even if it is weekly.

Under subscription plans, you have the option to schedule all your visits for the year as soon as you subscribe!

Home visit fees help cover travel expenses as well as driving time that could have been used to see another individual and are the same for all plans, including pay-per-session.
About Crisis Management
Crisis is when you are at immediate risk of harming yourself or others. If you are upset, angry, or crying but do not have suicidal or homicidal ideations, it is not considered a crisis and therefore it is not billed as such.

If you are or escalate into a crisis during a scheduled visit that is covered under your subscription plan, only the crisis management fee applies and only if you need more time than the length of your visit.

Crisis management outside a scheduled visit is a flat rate, regardless of the time spent helping you during a crisis.

Please note that crisis management fees for pay-per-session are different than those for subscription plans.

For a home visit that requires crisis management the following fees apply:
- Your session fee (pay-per-session or add-on session rate)
- The $25 or $40 home visit fee.
- The crisis management fee for a scheduled session ($30 if subscribed to a plan and $60 if you pay per session).
About Telephone Communication
Provider-client phone call fees are in place for phone calls of a duration that is close to or goes beyond the time an actual appointment would last.

Your provider may be placing wellness calls on occasion that are intended to be five minutes or less. Although your provider will notify you when you are about to exceed the five minutes, it is your responsibility to allow the call to end within 5 minutes.

Unless initiated by your provider, only one 5-minute call/day will be free of charge.

Time for calls with family and loved ones for questions or concerns counts as time managing your care and is billed as listed under telephone communications.

You will be asked to sign a consent if you agree that we discuss your care with any family members and also to leave detailed voicemails on your personal phone.

If you agree to detailed voicemails but your recorded message is generic and does not include your name, your provider will not leave sensitive information and will instead request a call back, if one is needed.

We do not bill for time spent on collaboration and coordination with other providers involved in your care regardless of the payment option you have selected.
About Break The Session!
This may easily be the most affordable way in the whole healthcare industry to access mental health services!

It may be the best payment option for you if:
- You do not meet the criteria for Our Love To People program.
- You are reluctant to commit to one of our subscription plans but cannot afford to pay per session.
- You wish to have better control of what services are available to you.

You may set up fixed, recurrent weekly, biweekly, or monthly payments of an amount you can afford until the amount that will cover a 15-, 30-, 45-, or 60-minute "office" visit or psychotherapy session is accrued.

Once the full amount for your appointment has accrued, your recurrent payments will stop and will not restart until you need to start payments for another visit.

You may restart a recurrent payment period if and when you wish to have another visit or when your provider recommends that you return.

Once you have had the initial evaluation, you also have the option to subscribe to one of our plans, in which case there will not be a waiting period since your initial evaluation is already covered.

Please note that any payments under Break the Session plan are not refundable.

If you have accrued a part of the cost of the appointment you wished to schedule and you cancel the recurrent payments, you may restart recurrent payments that will go towards the accrued amount as long as they are within the same year.

If you have accrued a part of the cost of your appointment and cancel the recurrent payments while you have already scheduled your appointment, your appointment will be cancelled and you will incur any applicable late cancellation fees.

If you have accrued the amount for your visit but have not scheduled it, you may do so at any point within a year from your first recurrent payment.
If you have accrued an amount that covers one or more visits but you do not schedule them within the year, these visits do not carry over to the next year and the accrued amounts are not refundable. You will need to start new recurrent payments for the new year until the amount that will cover your visit is accrued.

Please also be aware that with Break The Session plan, the frequency of your appointments will depend on the amount you have selected to pay on a recurrent basis. If you need frequent visits, the best option is to either subscribe to a plan or to use Break The Session plan for your initial evaluation and then subscribe to a plan.
For cancellations and refunds, please see our policies page.
IMPORTANT TO KNOW: Should you wish to submit your receipts from our services to your insurance as out-of-network, we can provide you with a superbill to submit, although there may be limitations. As we have set fees for each service that vary based on the payment option you wish to use, there might not be a corresponding billing code that your insurance could use to reimburse you or the same billing code may be applicable for various services that your insurance may not accept since they would expect a different billing code for the type and/or duration of the service you received. If insurance coverage is a necessary factor for pursuing your mental health care with Peace Of Mind CT, we strongly advise you to consider the possibility that your insurance plan will not cover all visits or fees, and we recommend consulting with your insurance plan agent about the payment option you are considering for your care with Peace of Mind CT.
